Male PE Teacher (0.8)

Job Description

Zest Education are currently working alongside a high performing secondary school in the Solihull area to recruit for a qualified Male PE Teacher. The position is a part time teaching role (0.8) due to commence in February 2025 and run for the rest of the academic year. The role is open to Male applicants only due to the sensitive nature of changing room supervision.

The school are looking for a candidate who shares their passion and enthusiasm for the development of young people. They pride themselves on unlocking the potential of each person within the school, offering the successful candidate career opportunities within a Multi Academy Trust. The school also benefits from both onsite parking and easily accessible public transport links.

PE is one of the most popular subjects taken at GCSE at this school, so strong knowledge of the KS4 curriculum is essential. The successful candidate will be adaptable and creative with their lesson planning and will have experience in marking both practical and theory-based work.

Successful candidates will have:
  • A PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification that has awarded them QTS or QTLS
  • A strong enthusiasm for the subject of PE and the ability to plan and deliver high quality lessons
  • Excellent knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 curriculum (KS5 is not essential but is desirable)
  • A team ethos and the ability to build strong and professional relationships with both colleagues and pupils
  • Experience in classroom and behaviour management
