Design and Technology Teacher, South Birmingham

Job Description

We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Design Technology Teacher to join a secondary school based in Saltley that we closely work with. This is a temporary, full-time position, starting as soon as possible and running until the end of the academic year.

Responsibilities:

– Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and interactive lessons in Design Technology to students of various age groups and abilities.
– Assess and mark students’ work, providing constructive feedback to support their learning and progression.
– Create a positive and inclusive learning environment, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
– Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance the Design Technology curriculum, incorporating new and innovative teaching methods.
– Monitor and track students’ progress, identifying areas for improvement and implementing appropriate intervention strategies.
– Attend staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other school events as required.

Requirements:

– Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification.
– Specialism in Design Technology.
– Experience teaching Design Technology at secondary school level, including planning and marking responsibilities.
– Strong knowledge and understanding of the UK curriculum for Design Technology.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
– Organized and efficient approach to lesson planning and preparation.
– Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

 

Rate of pay varies dependant on experience, ranging from £153 – £211 a day.
