Primary Teaching Assistant

Job Description

Are you a qualified teaching assistant looking for an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young learners? Zest Education is currently collaborating with a wonderful school in Tamworth, and they are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual like you to join their team.

As a teaching assistant at this school, you will have the chance to work Monday to Friday, providing support and guidance to students during their educational journey. The school are looking for the successful candidate to work 25 hours spread across the week, you will have ample time to engage with students and contribute to their development

Responsibilities:
– Collaborate with the lead teacher to assist in delivering engaging lessons and activities for Key Stage 1 students.
– Support students in their academic, social, and emotional development, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
– Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, ensuring their understanding and progress in various subjects.
– Assist in the planning, preparation, and organization of classroom materials and resources.
– Monitor and track students’ progress, providing feedback to the lead teacher and parents/guardians when necessary.

Requirements:
– Relevant qualifications, such as a Teaching Assistant Certificate or equivalent.
– Experience working with Key Stage 1 students, preferably in an educational setting.
– Strong understanding of child development and effective teaching strategies.
– Ability to establish positive and supportive relationships with students, staff, and parents/guardians.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– A proactive and adaptable approach to supporting students’ individual needs.

While not mandatory, having first aid training would be an asset as the school places great importance on the well-being and safety of its students. Your ability to remain calm under pressure and provide immediate assistance when needed will be highly valued.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
