Job Description

Zest Education is currently seeking flexible and confident Cover Supervisors to support a variety of secondary schools across Nottingham and Derby. This role is ideal for those with a passion for working with young people and looking to gain valuable classroom experience — particularly graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced support staff.

 Role Overview:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

  • Supervise lessons across a range of subjects using pre-set work provided by class teachers

  • Maintain classroom control and ensure students remain on task

  • Support pupils with questions when needed and manage low-level behaviour

  • Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding behaviour and engagement

  • Work across multiple schools depending on location and availability

You won’t be expected to plan or mark work — your focus will be to ensure smooth lesson delivery and support pupil engagement.

 Ideal Candidate:

✅ Confident and resilient, with strong interpersonal skills
✅ Experience working with secondary-age children (schools, coaching, youth work, tutoring)
✅ Calm and professional classroom presence
✅ Degree or A-Levels preferred but not essential
✅ Ability to adapt to different school environments and routines
✅ Own transport is highly desirable due to multi-site travel
