Zest Education is working with a welcoming secondary school looking to appoint a compassionate and reliable 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a student with additional needs from September 2025. This role is ideal for someone committed to making a meaningful difference in a pupil’s learning and well-being.
Provide 1:1 in-class and out-of-class support for a secondary-age student with special educational needs (SEN)
Support may include helping with autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, or learning difficulties
Help the student access learning and stay engaged in lessons
Assist in developing strategies to manage behaviour and emotional regulation
Adapt learning materials and provide targeted interventions
Work closely with the SENCO, class teachers, and external professionals
✅ Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, ideally in a school setting
✅ Understanding of the secondary curriculum and common learning barriers
✅ Calm, patient, and empathetic with strong communication skills
✅ Comfortable working 1:1 with a student who may have emotional or behavioural challenges
✅ Relevant qualifications such as Level 2/3 TA, SEN training, or a psychology background are beneficial
✅ Committed to safeguarding and building strong pupil relationships

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
