Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Atherstone)
Location: Atherstone
Start Date: October 2025
Contract: Full-time, until the end of the school term
Salary: Competitive rate of pay

Zest Education is delighted to be working with a friendly and forward-thinking primary school in Atherstone, which is currently seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025. This is a full-time role running until the end of the school term, with the potential for ongoing work in other local schools through Zest Education.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll be a key part of the classroom team, supporting both teachers and pupils across Key Stage 1 and/or Key Stage 2. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the delivery of engaging lessons

  • Supporting individuals or small groups with specific learning needs

  • Encouraging positive behaviour and social interaction

  • Preparing and maintaining classroom resources

  • Helping to track student progress and contribute to planning when required

This role is well-suited to someone who is passionate about helping children succeed and is looking to gain valuable school-based experience.

Requirements

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Have experience working with children (in schools, nurseries, or similar education settings)

  • Are enthusiastic, reliable, and approachable

  • Possess strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Hold a DBS on the Update Service or are willing to apply for one through Zest Education

  • Have relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant) – desirable but not essential

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
