1-1 Teaching Assistant (SEND)

Job Description

Are you someone who loves helping children reach their full potential? Zest Education is delighted to be recruiting for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant (SEND) to work in one of our fantastic partner schools. This is a truly rewarding opportunity for someone who is patient, caring, and passionate about supporting children with additional needs. If you’re looking for a role where you can make a genuine difference every single day, this could be the perfect next step in your career.

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with a pupil who requires additional support, helping them to access learning and reach their personal goals. You’ll assist the class teacher in delivering tailored activities, provide emotional and behavioural support, and help the child build confidence and independence both inside and outside the classroom. Your role will be vital in ensuring the pupil feels valued, supported, and included in every aspect of school life.

We’re looking for someone who is reliable, empathetic, and enthusiastic about education. Previous experience working with children with SEND – whether in a school, care, or youth setting – is highly desirable. A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification would be an advantage, but above all, we’re looking for someone with the right attitude and commitment to helping every child succeed. You’ll also need an up-to-date DBS check (or be willing to obtain one through Zest Education).

The school itself is a warm, inclusive, and welcoming environment rated Outstanding by Ofsted. Staff are supportive, leadership is inspiring, and the atmosphere is one of genuine care and teamwork
