Job Description

Zest Education is proud to be working with a welcoming primary school in Bedworth that is looking for a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives on supporting children to reach their full potential in a nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with additional learning needs, ensuring they have full access to the curriculum.
  • Implement individualised education and behaviour support plans in collaboration with the class teacher and SENCO.
  • Foster positive relationships to build confidence, independence, and engagement in learning.
  • Assist with classroom activities, preparing learning materials and resources.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teaching staff and parents where appropriate.
  • Promote inclusion and a safe, supportive learning environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience supporting children with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities), ideally within a school or care setting.
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to working with children.
  • Ability to follow support plans and communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and professionals.
  • Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant certificate (desirable but not essential).

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
