Zest Education are looking to recruit a full-time Chemistry teacher for a secondary school in the Cannock area. This role is full time from April 2024 for the rest of the academic year.

The role is long term so planning and marking of all classwork is required. Good behaviour and classroom management is needed as well as excellent subject knowledge at KS4 and KS5. Knowledge of general science at KS3 is also required as the candidate may have to take over a few KS3 lessons.

The school has excellent science facilities with updated classrooms with chemistry and physics being taken up by a vast majority of the students at A level. The successful candidate will be joining a supportive staff and become and integral part of the science department, liaising with other teachers and technicians.

The successful candidate will have the following:
  • A PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification that has awarded them QTS or QTLS
  • A strong passion for the subject of Chemistry and excellent subject knowledge across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 would be ideal but isn’t a necessity)
  • A team ethos and want to be part of a strong team environment
  • The ability to plan, mark and deliver high quality lessons (planning and marking only for short/long term placements)
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management.
