Zest Education are looking for a hardworking, passionate Teaching assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a nine-year-old student in a SEND school located in Tamworth. The role is to start as soon as possible and will be ongoing until the end of the academic year on a full-time basis.

The school caters for children from the age of five to fourteen with Autism (ASC) and social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH). Due to the needs of the children, the ideal candidate will have previous experience of supporting individuals with SEND and is confident with their behaviour management.

You will be required to work 1:1 with the student supporting with all areas of the curriculum and their day-to-day activities. On some occasions you may also be required to work with small groups of children, so it is important that you have a flexible approach.

The role:

  • You will need to be adaptable and have experience of working in a special educational needs environment
  • You will be supporting the children to learn as effectively as possible in small groups and individually
  • You will be required to support the student in developing social skills both inside and outside of the classroom.
