1:1 SEND Practitioner

Zest Education is proud to be recruiting for a 1:1 SEND Practitioner to join a lovely preschool located in a quaint village in Derbyshire. Ofsted rating “Good” This is a fantastic long-term opportunity to make a real difference by supporting a child with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) in a caring and inclusive early years environment. Immediate start, long term (until July 2026).

The preschool caters for up to 40 children and provides a warm, nurturing atmosphere where every child is encouraged to explore, play, and grow. The setting values outdoor learning, creativity, and inclusion — making it a truly rewarding place to work.

The Role:

• Provide 1:1 support for a child with SEND within the preschool room.
• Work closely with the preschool team and SENCO to deliver individualised learning support.
• Assist with both the child’s educational and emotional development.
• Promote independence, confidence, and positive social interaction.
• Maintain a calm, engaging, and inclusive environment.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Holds a Level 3 Early Years or Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
• Has previous experience supporting children with SEND
• Is patient, nurturing, and passionate about early childhood education
• Communicates effectively with staff, parents, and external professionals.
• Works well as part of a collaborative and caring team.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
