1:1 SEND Support Assistant

About the Role
Zest Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant to join our partner school. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers to provide targeted support, help maintain a positive learning environment, and contribute to the overall success of the school community.

Job Title: Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant
Location: Coleshill
Employment Type: 3 days per week
Start Date: January 2026

Key Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons
• Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils, including those with additional learning needs
• Assist with the preparation of classroom resources and learning materials
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to the teacher to aid assessment
• Promote positive behaviour and ensure the safety and welfare of all pupils
• Support pupils with social, emotional, and academic development
• Assist with record keeping and administrative duties as required
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school events where appropriate

Requirements

• Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
• Experience supporting teaching and learning in a school setting (primary, secondary, or SEND)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A proactive and flexible approach to working with students of varying abilities and backgrounds
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
• A valid DBS certificate on the update service (or willingness to apply for one through Zest Education)

Desirable Skills

• Experience working with pupils with SEN or additional needs
• Knowledge of EYFS, KS1, KS2, or KS3/4 curriculum (depending on setting)
• Ability to use a range of classroom support strategies and resources
• Confidence in using ICT and supporting learning through technology
