Zest Education is currently working with a welcoming primary school in Burton-on-Trent to recruit a dedicated 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in Key Stage 1 or 2 from September 2025.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and reliable TA to make a real difference in a pupil’s educational journey. The role is initially temporary but offers a pathway to a permanent position for the right candidate.
Provide individualised support for a pupil with special educational needs (SEN)
Adapt learning materials and activities to meet the child’s specific needs
Assist with social and emotional development throughout the school day
Collaborate closely with the class teacher and SENCO to track progress and update support strategies
Help maintain a calm, safe, and positive classroom environment
A small, inclusive primary school with a strong sense of community
Based in Burton-on-Trent, easily accessible via public transport
Offers on-site staff parking
Supportive team culture with a focus on child-centred learning
Possibility of long-term or permanent placement following a successful initial period
Previous experience supporting children with SEN (e.g. ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or learning difficulties)
Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff
A calm, patient, and flexible approach
A relevant qualification (Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching & Learning) is desirable but not essential

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
