1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant

Job Description

Zest Education is delighted to be recruiting for a passionate and committed 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Nuneaton. This is a fantastic long-term opportunity for someone who thrives on making a difference to children with additional needs. If you are caring, patient, and ready to take on a rewarding role supporting a pupil on a one-to-one basis, this could be the perfect next step in your career.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated one-to-one support for a child with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning plans to meet the pupil’s individual needs
  • Support the child’s social and emotional development, encouraging confidence and independence
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to ensure consistent support
  • Maintain a calm, positive, and encouraging learning environment
  • Help with classroom activities, transitions, and any personal care needs where required

The school is a warm and welcoming primary setting, rated Good by Ofsted, and is recognised for its inclusive ethos and nurturing approach. Staff work together to create a positive, family-like atmosphere where both pupils and adults feel supported and valued. It’s a fantastic environment for anyone looking to grow their experience within a friendly and forward-thinking team.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEND, ideally within a school or care setting
  • A patient, understanding, and empathetic nature
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A valid UK driving licence and access to transport (essential due to location)
  • Availability to start as soon as possible
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) are desirable but not essential

We offer competitive pay, personalised guidance, and a dedicated consultant to help you every step of the way.
