1:1 Teaching Assistant

Job Description

We are currently looking for a full-time 1:1 Teaching  Assistant for a special educational school in Walsall. This is a full-time position, and you will be expected to work Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.

Working as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant in a special needs school can be both rewarding and challenging. We are looking for dedicated individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with special educational needs.

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, your role will involve providing tailored support to a specific student with Autism (ASC). Due to the needs of the student, you must be confident with managing challenging behaviours.

In this role, you will be an integral part of a busy and expanding SEND school. We are seeking individuals who are confident, proactive, and able to work as part of a team. Your main responsibility will be to motivate and impact pupil development, working closely with the class teacher and therapists to implement individualized learning approaches, support emotional regulation, and enhance communication skills.

While the primary focus will be on one-to-one support, there may be occasions where you will be required to assist small groups within the classroom. This variety allows for a dynamic and engaging work environment, where you can contribute to the overall progress of the students.

To excel as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, empathy, and adaptability are key attributes that will help you build positive relationships with students and create a nurturing learning environment.

Previous experience working in a similar role or with individuals with special educational needs is desirable but not essential.

If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with special educational needs and are ready to take on this rewarding challenge, we would love to hear from you.
