Are you passionate about education and working with children? Do you have recent school based or SEND experience? A special educational needs school in Rugeley have asked us to recruit for full-time Teaching Assistant to start September 2022 and will continue into the new academic year.

This is an independent specialist school with two attached children’s homes, based in a beautiful area of rural Staffordshire. Offering placements for children and young people aged 5 to 19 with Autism (ASC) or associated learning difficulties within the moderate to severe range. Many of the children have had an unsuccessful previous journey through local authority, special schools and PRUs so it is important that you are able to quickly build trusting relationships with the children.

The successful candidate will be working with children individually and in small groups, supporting with all areas of the curriculum. You will be working alongside the class teacher, preparing learning resources and maintaining the classroom to a high standard.

The role:

  • You must be confident with managing challenging behaviours, this school follows the ‘Team Teach’ policy, knowledge or understanding of this would be advantageous
  • You must be passionate, enthusiastic and be able to identify and engage with different learning needs
  • You must be a supportive and patient individual, supporting the children with there day to day activities both inside and outside the classroom
