We are currently looking for a SEND teacher for a special educational needs secondary school located in Stoke-On-Trent. This school caters for students with social, emotional and mental health difficulties and associated needs, so we are looking for someone that has previous experience of working within a similar environment. The school places students within classes based on their ability, so you will be teaching students from the age of eleven to sixteen while being supported by outstanding learning support assistants.

This role is due to start as soon as possible and continue until the end of the academic year. It has been outlined that it is highly likely that the position will be extended and for the right person and will continue next academic year. You will be expected to take on the full teaching role, including planning and marking as well as having a good understanding of students personal needs.

The role:

  • Teaching a small class size of seven autistic students, while being supported by three learning support assistants.
  • You will have experience of working with SEND and a good understanding of SEMH.
  • This position suits teachers from both a primary and secondary SEND background.
