Job Description

Zest Education are looking for a Teaching Assistant to work in a special educational needs school located in Cannock. With excellent train, bus and motorway links, the school is in a great location. This is a full-time position, and you will be required to work Monday-Friday, 8:30-15:30. We have opportunities available for immediate starts.

The school caters to students aged 5-16 years old, who hold an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). With a focus on students with moderate learning difficulties, we also support pupils with additional needs such as autism, speech, language, and communication difficulties, as well as some behavioural needs.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work closely with a dedicated team of teachers in small classes. Your role will be vital in providing support and assistance to both the students and teachers. The school value the importance of teaching life skills to the students, encouraging independence and personal growth. Therefore, your passion for empowering every student will be instrumental in helping them achieve their goals.

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you have previous experience supporting individuals with special educational needs or within a similar setting. Familiarity with the Team Teach behaviour management principles will be advantageous but not compulsory. We are looking for someone who can adapt their practice to support students across all key stages and is committed to providing exceptional learning and support.

 

 Key Qualifications:

– Experience supporting individuals with special educational needs

– Familiarity with special educational needs or similar setting

– Passion for empowering students and promoting independence

– Knowledge of Team Teach behaviour management principles (advantageous)

– Excellent communication skills

– Ability to work well in a team

– Positive attitude and a keen desire to learn

– Enjoy working with small children

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
