Job Description

Zest Education is proud to be working alongside a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Derby to recruit an enthusiastic EYFS Teacher for a full-time position starting in September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive school community with a genuine opportunity for the role to become permanent.

 About the Role:

As the EYFS teacher, you will:

  • Lead a Reception class, planning and delivering engaging and age-appropriate lessons in line with the EYFS framework

  • Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment, both indoors and outdoors

  • Use observation and assessment tools (e.g. Tapestry or similar) to track children’s development and plan next steps

  • Collaborate closely with teaching assistants and the wider EYFS team to ensure high-quality care and education

  • Develop strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to support early learning goals and school readiness

  • Support children of all abilities, including those with SEND, in reaching their full potential

 What We’re Looking For:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or PGCE with EYFS specialism
 Experience teaching in an EYFS setting, ideally within a primary school
 A thorough understanding of the EYFS Statutory Framework and early learning goals
 Strong classroom management and excellent interpersonal skills
 A nurturing, imaginative, and child-centred teaching approach
 Experience supporting children with SEND is desirable but not essential

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
