Art Teacher

Job Description

Zest Education are working closely with a high performing secondary school in the Stoke on Trent area to recruit a full time art teacher to start September 2024 for at least one term with the likelihood of the role to extend for a second term.

The school are looking for a creative and enthusiastic individual to joining the wider art and design team, subject knowledge to KS4 is essential with knowledge at KS5 being an advantage. Additionally, the school offers state of the art facilities and is easily accessible through either public or private transport.

The schools ethos focuses on building a community for the future, with students being taught vital skills for later in life. The senior leadership team (SLT) are supportive and inclusive with a focus on training and supporting staff through their continued development.

The successful applicant will have:

  • A PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification that has awarded them QTS or QTLS
  • A strong passion for the subject of Art and Design and excellent subject knowledge across KS3 and KS4.
  • The ability to plan, mark and deliver high quality lessons (planning and marking only for short/long term placements)
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and recent school-based experience (teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
