Behaviour‑Focused Teaching Assistant

Full‑time | Immediate or April Start | EYFS–KS2

A supportive, community‑driven primary setting in central Birmingham is looking for a Behaviour‑Focused Teaching Assistant to join their team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in structured environments and can help pupils stay focused, calm and ready to learn.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 months’ experience in a UK primary school
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Excellent behaviour management — calm, consistent, confident
  • Ability to de‑escalate, redirect and maintain routines
  • A genuine commitment to the wider community, not just the classroom

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting pupils with behaviour regulation and positive routines
  • Working 1:1 or with small groups to keep learning on track
  • Reinforcing expectations and promoting a calm, purposeful atmosphere
  • Supporting teachers with behaviour strategies and classroom structure
  • Helping pupils build confidence, resilience and positive relationships
