Business Manager

Zest Education is proud to be working with a thriving school in Erdington seeking an experienced and highly organised School Business Manager to join their senior leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong financial, administrative, and strategic management experience who is looking to play a key role in the continued success of the school.

 Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the school’s financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting

• Oversee HR, payroll, and recruitment administration in line with school and trust policies

• Manage premises, facilities, and health & safety compliance across the site

• Support the Headteacher and Governors with strategic planning and resource management

• Lead the administration team, ensuring effective office systems and communication

• Manage contracts, procurement, and suppliers to ensure best value for money

• Contribute to safeguarding, GDPR compliance, and risk assessment processes

• Support with income generation and funding applications where applicable

 Ideal Candidate:

✅ Proven experience as a School Business Manager (essential)
✅ Strong understanding of financial management, HR, and premises compliance
✅ Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
✅ Highly organised and able to prioritise in a fast-paced environment
✅ Proficient in school MIS systems (e.g., SIMS, Arbor, or Bromcom) and Microsoft Office
✅ Professional, proactive, and discreet
✅ Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
