Business Manager

Zest Education is recruiting a highly organised and proactive Business Manager to join a school based in Birmingham. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong financial, administrative, and leadership skills, ideally gained within an education or public sector environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead on financial planning, budgeting, and reporting
• Manage HR processes including payroll, recruitment, and staff records
• Oversee premises, health and safety, and compliance requirements
• Sup
• port the Headteacher and Governors with strategic planning
• Ensure efficient use of resources and value for money
• Develop systems to improve administration and operational effectiveness
• Build strong relationships with staff, parents, and external partners

Ideal Candidate:

✅ Previous experience in business or financial management, ideally within a school or academy trust

📋 Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail

💬 Confident communicator with good written and verbal skills

🖥️ Proficient with financial and administrative systems (school MIS experience an advantage)

🤝 Professional, adaptable, and able to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders

🛡️ Understanding of safeguarding and compliance in education
🪪 Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
