Position Overview: Zest are seeking a passionate and dedicated Classroom Assistant to join their Year 3 team starting in September 2024. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the class teacher to support the learning and development of our students, ensuring a positive and engaging classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons across the curriculum.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students who require additional assistance.
  • Support the teacher in implementing behaviour management strategies and maintaining classroom discipline.
  • Prepare and organize classroom materials and resources for lessons and activities.
  • Supervise students during break times, outings, and other school activities.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and respected.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and other stakeholders regarding student progress and welfare.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience working with children in an educational setting is desirable.
  • A passion for supporting the learning and development of young learners.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards working with children.
  • A willingness to actively engage in professional development and training opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Relevant childcare or education-related qualifications are advantageous.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance (Disclosure and Barring Service).
  • Right to work in the UK.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
