Classroom Support Assistant

Job Description

Are you passionate about making a real difference in children’s lives? Zest Education is working with a thriving primary school in Coventry that is seeking a dedicated Classroom Support Assistant to join their outstanding team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves helping children reach their full potential and is looking for a rewarding, full-time role supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to children with additional learning needs
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
  • Foster positive relationships with pupils to promote confidence and independence
  • Liaise effectively with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to ensure pupil progress
  • Support children with personal care and emotional regulation where necessary
  • Help create a positive, nurturing, and safe classroom environment

Candidate requirements:

  • Experience supporting children with SEND (professional or voluntary)
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for education and helping young people thrive
  • Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent are desirable but not essential

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
