Classroom Support Assistant

Job Description

A friendly and supportive primary school in Rugby is looking for a committed Classroom Support Assistant to join their team. This role involves working closely with teachers to support learning across the classroom, helping pupils stay engaged, confident, and ready to learn. It’s a great opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic, patient, and passionate about supporting children’s development.

Requirements

  • Previous school‑based experience is preferred
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND is desirable
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Calm, patient, and adaptable approach
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing

 

Day‑to‑day duties

  • Supporting teaching and learning across the classroom
  • Assisting with small‑group activities and interventions
  • Helping pupils stay focused, motivated, and confident
  • Supporting behaviour and emotional regulation using agreed strategies
  • Working closely with the class teacher to deliver high‑quality learning
  • Contributing to a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment
