Job Description

Classroom Support Assistant.

Zest Education is working in close partnership with a special educational needs school located in Rugeley. The school are looking to appoint a full-time Classroom Support Assistant to start ASAP and will continue on a long-term basis into the new academic year. The successful candidate must be able to work Monday to Friday, 8:30-15:30.

This school caters for students with an autism spectrum condition, or an identified social, emotional, or mental health need aged 9 – 19 years. Although this position is to work in a school environment, we are open to receiving applications from TA’s, support workers and individuals that have worked with adults with special educational needs.

This is a well-respected school, that ensures students within the setting are supported throughout their time in the environment. Many of the learners in this environment find it difficult to trust individuals, so we are looking for someone that can build rapport quickly.

The role:

  • You will be required to work with the students individually and in small groups, supporting with all areas of the curriculum
  • You must be passionate about working with students with special educational needs and have previous experience of working in a special school or similar environment
  • You will be confident, enthusiastic and be able to identify and engage with different learning needs

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
