Zest Education are recruiting for a part time teaching assistant at a busy primary school in Hall Green, Birmingham. The position will be working within KS2 (year group to be appointed on successful interview) and will be working with the whole class and supporting small groups.

The successful classroom assistant must:

  • Hold an NVQ Level 2 qualification (or above) in a relevant subject
  • Be confident working with children and recognise individual needs
  • Be able to engage with and support a broad range of needs, including SEND and EAL
  • Have the highest regard for safeguarding and health and safety procedures
  • Work well as part of a well-established team and have good communication skills
  • Have a positive work ethic and be willing to go the ‘extra mile’
  • Be proficient in literacy and numeracy

What the role will involve:

  • Supporting small groups with phonics and interventions
  • General class support for focus and core subject support
  • Recognise and understand the importance of safeguarding children
  • Working within a fast paced and ever-changing environment
