Classroom Support Assistant.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Classroom Support Assistant in a unique special educational needs school located in Smethwick. The position will be starting as soon as possible and will continue into the new academic year. This is a full-time position and you will be required to work Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 15:30.

This school caters for children from the age of five to seventeen with Autism (ASC) and social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH). Due to the needs of the learners, the ideal candidate will have previous experience of supporting individuals with special educational needs or within the care sector.

It is important to this school that each individual student receives a high standard of education, due to this reason each class has a maximum of nine students based on their ability. You may be required to work in a variety of these classes, so it is important that you are flexible to meet the student’s needs.

You will be supporting the teacher with delivery of lessons, preparing learning resources, and supporting the students with their daily activities either on a 1:1 basis or in small groups.

The role:

  • You have experience of supporting individuals with special educational needs or within the care sector
  • You are a patient individual and have a positive attitude towards the educational development of the students
  • You will need to be adaptable to work and support children of a variety of ages and learning difficulties
