Zest is recruiting for a classroom assistant to work on a 1-1 basis from September 2022 for the full academic year. The school is based in Selly Oak and will be working with a child in the Year 4 class who requires additional support with autism and personal care when required.

The successful candidates must:

  • Hold a relevant NVQ Level 2 qualification (or above) in a relevant childcare subject
  • Be a resilient, calm and approachable teaching assistant
  • Have previous experience of working within a similar role
  • Be proficient in literacy, numeracy, and ICT
  • Understand the importance of safeguarding all children
  • Have a strong work ethic and team player attitude

The school is an improving primary and is aiming to become a ‘good’ rated school in the near future. The school benefits from a dedicated team who work well together to ensure this is a safe and supportive environment for all children to learn and grow. The school has a strong focus on inclusion to cater for children of all abilities and backgrounds, and aims to develop all pupils physically, academically, and socially.

If you have previous experience working with phonics and ‘Read Write inc’ then this would be advantageous but is not essential.
