Zest Education are working closely with several secondary schools in North Birmingham close to Sutton Coldfield, the schools are looking to recruit Cover Supervisors to start with them in September 2022, this will be for a minimum of one term. Both part and full time positions are available.

These roles are extremely popular with people who have an interest in education, working with young people, gaining classroom experience, or have recently graduated.

The Role of a Cover Supervisor

A successful Cover Supervisor will be required to work in secondary schools delivering high quality pre-planned lessons to groups of 11-18 year old students.

Work will be pre-planned by the classroom teacher within the school, and you will be expected to deliver it to the students, manage behaviour and provide feedback to relevant people within schools.

What qualifications do I need?

To be a successful Cover Supervisor we look for experience of 20 days or more working with children and/or young people. This role is a great steppingstone to get into a career in teaching. Ideally you will hold a degree, but this isn’t a necessity.

Successful Cover Supervisors come from a variety of backgrounds including:

  • Sports Coaches
  • Youth Workers

  • Dance Teacher
  • School placements
  • Voluntary work
  • Scout leader

Pay and remuneration:

A Cover Supervisor can expect to be paid between £65 – £85 per day. Usual working hours will be between 8:30am – 3:30pm.
