Zest Education are working closely with a school in the Walsall area to look for a Design and Technology Teacher with a product design specialism, to start full time from September 2024 for one term.

The school are a local high performing secondary with a ‘Good’ rating in their last OFSTED inspection. High standards of achievement and learning have consistently seen to equal into high grade at exam level. Students are supported and encouraged to become the best versions of themselves that they can be.

The chosen candidate will be joining the wider Design and Technology department with a supportive team. Subject knowledge up to KS4 is essential with knowledge at KS5 also being an advantage as it is rising in popularity with A Level students. Ideally the school would like the successful applicant to be creative and innovative with their teaching methods, whilst maintain a positive learning environment. This is a great opportunity to work within a school making a difference to the lives of its young students. Strong workshop management is needed in this role.

The successful applicant will have:

  1. A PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification that has awarded them QTS or QTLS
  2. A strong passion for the subject of Design & Technology and excellent subject knowledge across KS3 and KS4
  3. A team ethos and want to be part of a strong team environment
  4. The ability to plan, mark and deliver high quality lessons (planning and marking only for short/long term placements).
  5. Strong classroom and behaviour management.
