Zest Education are currently seeking a creative, proactive and experienced Design and Technology Technician to provide a high standard of teaching to a Secondary School in the Kings Heath area. This role is due to commence as soon as possible and has the potential to run for the rest of the academic year.

The successful applicant will obtain a key position within the Design and Technology department and will specialise in the popular subject area of Resistant Materials. They will be required to prepare equipment, materials, and machinery for practical demonstrations and ensure that the Health and Safety requirements are met at all times.

This role will also give the successful applicant an opportunity to express their expertise to the school’s students, providing them with the tools to further their knowledge of the subject of Design and Technology.

The school itself has recently benefitted from an investment into their Design and Technology department, meaning the successful applicant will be working with new and updated facilities. The school also benefits from onsite parking and easily accessible public transport links.

Successful candidates will have:
  • A PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification that has awarded them QTS or QTLS
  • A strong enthusiasm for the subject of Design and Technology (Resistant Materials specifically) and the ability to plan and deliver high quality lessons
  • Excellent knowledge of the KS3 to KS5 curriculum
  • A team ethos and the ability to build strong and professional relationships with both colleagues and pupils
  • Experience in classroom and behaviour management

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years, teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
