Zest Education are working closely with a large secondary school in South Birmingham by Tyseley. The school have asked for our help in finding a Design & Technology teacher, that can teach across KS3 and KS4, the role will start as soon as possible, will be full time, and will continue for the rest of the academic year.

The school is located in a popular area, so is easily accessible by private or public transport. This large secondary caters for a broad range of students, including high numbers of EAL students. The school is continually improving and setting high standards for their pupils; therefore, the successful candidate will thrive in fast paced and hardworking environments.

The successful applicant will have:

  • A PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification that has awarded them QTS or QTLS
  • A strong passion for the subject of Design & Technology and excellent subject knowledge across KS3 and KS4 (Resistant Material knowledge would be an advantage)
  • A team ethos and want to be part of a strong team environment
  • The ability to plan, mark and deliver high quality lessons (planning and marking only for short/long term placements).
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management

Rates of pay will vary dependant on experience.

Both newly qualified teachers (NQT) / Early careers teachers (ECT) and experienced teachers will be equally considered for this role.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years, teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
