Zest Education are working closely with a secondary schools across Birmingham, one located in Handsworth, are looking for a Science ECT that can teach across KS3 – KS4. The role will start in September 2023. This is a great opportunity for any science ECTs to get experience or a permanent role in school.
It is a good Ofsted rated, large secondary school, with a broad range of students of different academic abilities. It has good facilities both indoor and outdoor which believe makes for good and engaging lessons. The staff work together to get the best out of the pupils so believe teamwork is very important. It is also centred in a popular area, so is easily accessible by private or public transport.
The successful candidate must be reliable, resilient and have a good work ethic. A strong knowledge of the subject is needed with creative ideas in how to teach and get across to the pupils. Building relationships is key to the role as the school believes that this will help get the best out of the young adults being taught here.
The successful candidate will have:
- A PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification that has awarded them QTS or QTLS
- A great team member willing to support all in the school
- A strong passion for the subject of Science and experience of teaching Science across GCSE and A Level
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management
- Strong at building and maintaining relationships with students and colleagues
Rate of pay will vary dependant on experience.
