About the Role

Zest Education is working in partnership with a number of welcoming and supportive secondary schools across Coventry and the surrounding areas, who are seeking motivated and inspiring English Teachers to work on a supply basis from September 2026.

These opportunities are ideal for passionate educators who can confidently deliver engaging English lessons to KS3 and KS4 students, supporting learning, progress, and positive classroom environments. Roles range from day-to-day supply to short-term and long-term placements, starting in the new academic year.

You will be joining established English departments within schools Zest currently works with, where behaviour expectations are clear, collaboration is encouraged, and staff are well supported. Whether you are an experienced teacher or an ECT, this is a fantastic opportunity to gain varied experience across secondary schools in the Coventry area.

The Role Will Involve:

  • Planning and delivering engaging English lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Creating a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
  • Assessing and monitoring pupil progress
  • Providing clear, constructive feedback to support student development
  • Maintaining high standards of professionalism and behaviour management

Planning and marking are required for short-term and long-term placements only.

What We’re Looking For:

  • PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification with QTS/QTLS
  • Experience teaching English in a UK secondary school setting
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Confidence teaching KS3–KS4 (KS5 desirable but not essential)
  • A proactive, reliable, and enthusiastic approach to teaching
