English Teacher – Sutton Coldfield

Job Description

Zest Education are recruiting for an English Teacher, to teach across KS3 and KS4, in a “Good” Ofsted-rated secondary school in North Birmingham, close to Sutton Coldfield.

The school are looking for someone to start in January 2025, they are considering applicants who are looking for either part or full-time work; this role will continue for a minimum of one term.

This good school is constantly improving their academic and attainment levels and is always looking to ensure its students develop into positive, inspiring and respectable individuals so that they excel in the future. The successful candidate will be joining a well-supported English Department and have access to good facilities to produce creative lessons.

The school are looking for someone hard working, enthusiastic, confident and someone that can engage with children that have different learning needs.

Successful candidates will have:

  • A PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification that has awarded them QTS or QTLS
  • A strong passion for the subject of English and excellent subject knowledge across KS3 and KS4
  • A team ethos and want to be part of a strong team environment
  • The ability to plan, mark and deliver high-quality lessons (planning and marking only for short/long-term placements).

Both Newly qualified English teachers (NQT) / Early careers teachers (ECT) and experienced teachers will be equally considered for this role.

Rates of pay will vary depending on experience.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years, teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
