Zest Education are currently looking for an SEND Teaching Assistant to join a school based in Rednal. You will be required to assist in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) on a full-time basis, working Monday to Friday, 8:30am till 3:30pm. This position is due to start straight as soon as possible.

You will be expected to:

  • Develop and implement tailored learning strategies to meet the children’s specific needs.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment that promotes children’s development and wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with teachers, outside agencies, and other staff members to create a cohesive support system.
  • Promote class interaction and ensure pupils engage throughout lessons.
  • Build a trusting relationship with all pupils and communicate with them accordingly.
  • Assist the class teacher when planning and delivering learning activities and prepare resources required to meet the lesson plans.
  • Provide detailed and regular feedback to teachers on the pupils achievements and progress.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with special education needs is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with the children, parents and staff.
  • Patience, empathy and a nurturing approach to all children to ensure their needs are fulfilled.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and contribute to the children’s educational plans.
  • Hold an enhanced DBS or the willingness to obtain one.
