Job Description

Are you passionate about supporting young learners in their education? Zest Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic full-time teaching assistant to join a school in Smethwick. This role offers a wonderful opportunity to work within the reception class on a long-term contract, with the possibility of becoming a permanent position for the right candidate.

As a general teaching assistant, you will play a key role in supporting both the class teacher and the children within the class. Your primary responsibility will be to understand and cater to the individual learning needs of each pupil, ensuring they receive the necessary support and guidance to thrive academically and emotionally.

Collaboration and effective communication are essential in this role. You will be working closely with the relevant EYFS team, sharing feedback and support to the relevant parents/carers to support a conducive learning environment. By fostering positive relationships with both the teaching staff and children, you will create a supportive and nurturing learning environment for all.

To excel in this role, you should possess empathy, compassion, and a genuine enthusiasm for education. Your ability to connect with pupils on a personal level will enable you to provide the necessary encouragement and inspiration to help them reach their full potential.

Requirements:
– Relevant experience in a similar role or a background in education
– Knowledge of the EYFS curriculum
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills
– Ability to work collaboratively within a team
– Patience, empathy, and a caring nature

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
