Full-time Teaching Assistant
We are currently looking for a full-time Teaching Assistant for a special educational needs school located in Lichfield. This position is due to begin ASAP and will continue on a long-term basis.
This school caters for children from the age of 7-16 severe and profound complex learning difficulties.
The school itself is a popular SEN school which encourages all children to develop into independent, respectful, and confident individuals. All classes are divided based on the child’s learning needs, therefore receive the apocopate teaching approach. You may be required to work across all classes, so you must be able to adapt to each individual child’s needs. The school ensures that each class does not exceed nine students and maintain a high level of staff.
Due to the needs of the learners within the environment, we are ideally looking for someone that has previously worked with learning difficulties. Although this position is to work in a school environment, we are open to receiving applications from TA’s, support workers and individuals that have worked with adults with special educational needs.
The role:
- You have previous experience working in a special educational needs environment
- You support the children to learn as effectively as possible in small groups and individually
- To support the pupil in developing social skills both in and out of the classroom.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
