Full-Time Teaching Assistant – Resource Base (Kings Heath, Birmingham)

Start Date: January 2026 (Long-Term)
Hours: Monday–Thursday: 8:25am – 3:45pm | Friday: 8:25am – 1:30pm
Salary: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications

Zest Education, a leading education recruitment agency across the Midlands, is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school in Kings Heath, Birmingham. This is a full-time, long-term role starting January 2026.

About the Role

You will work within a specialist resource base, supporting a small group of up to 12 pupils with diverse needs, including:

  • ADHD
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges
  • Physical disabilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored support to pupils within the resource base
  • Assist in delivering engaging, inclusive lessons aligned with the national curriculum
  • Build strong, positive relationships to support emotional wellbeing and development
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to maintain a safe, structured learning environment
  • Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies

What We’re Looking For

  • NVQ Level 3 or above in a relevant childcare or education qualification
  • Proven experience supporting children with additional needs
  • Compassionate, patient, and proactive approach
  • Strong understanding of the national curriculum and adaptive teaching strategies
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • PFA (Paediatric First Aid) training is desirable but not essential
