Zest Education is recruiting a full-time Teaching Assistant for a supportive primary school in Burton. This is a maternity cover position, ideal for a dedicated and qualified Teaching Assistant who is ready to work flexibly across the school covering sickness, emergency absences, and a variety of learning support needs.
The successful candidate will support pupils across the school, including one-to-one and small group interventions, as well as supporting teachers in delivering high-quality lessons. This Teaching Assistant job in Burton offers the opportunity to work with a variety of pupils, including those on the SEND register, and to play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning across the school.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing PPA cover for teaching staff
Delivering one-to-one support for pupils on the SEND register
Supporting pupils across the school through small group interventions
Assisting class teachers in delivering high-quality learning experiences
Working flexibly to cover sickness absence and emergency cover as needed
Contributing to a positive, inclusive learning environment

To be considered for this Teaching Assistant maternity cover role in Burton, candidates should:
Hold NVQ Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or an equivalent qualification
Have experience working in a primary school setting, ideally supporting SEND pupils
Be flexible, adaptable, and able to cover a variety of roles across the school
Have strong communication and teamwork skills
Be passionate about supporting children’s learning and development
