We are currently looking for a motivated Teaching Assistant for a special educational needs school located in Marston Green. This school caters for students from the age of five to seventeen with Autism (ASC) and social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH). This is a full-time position starting as soon as possible and will continue into the new academic year. Due to the needs of the students, the ideal Teaching Assistant will have previous experience of supporting individuals with SEND and is confident with their behaviour management.

This is a ‘Good’ rated SEND school which has a dedicated team of staff and teachers. The team here work hard to maintain a supportive and inclusive ethos across all areas of the school and put the children at the heart of what they do.

The successful candidate will need to be somebody who is confident enough to work across a range of age groups and must be able to identify and engage with different learning needs. This role is also hands on so the successful candidate will need to be somebody who can get involved and quickly build trusting relationships.

The role:

  • You must be passionate about working with students with special educational needs and have previous experience of working in a special school or similar environment
  • Help to keep disruption to a minimum and de-escalate any challenges you do face with your impressively calm, rational approach
  • You must be engaging, reliable and able to quickly build professional relationships
