We have a fantastic opportunity for a Teaching Assistant in a unique special educational needs school located in Cannock. This is a full-time position and is due to begin September 2022 and will continue on a long term basis into the new academic year. You will be required to work Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 15:30.

The school caters for children from the age of seven to eighteen with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH). Due to the needs of the children, the successful candidate will have previous experience of working in SEND and have good knowledge of behaviour management strategies.

This school tailors the students timetable to include time doing adventurous activities such as climbing, kayaking, hill walking, mounting biking and archery. The school are looking for an individual who is motivated and is persistent to overcome any challenging barriers with students to achieve the best possible results. You will be supporting the students with SEMH in all areas of the curriculum under guidance of the teacher and will be expected to work with students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.

The role:

  • You must have previous experience working with special educational needs or in a similar setting
  • The successful candidate must be a proactive and engaging individual who has proven experience of having strong behaviour management
  • You must be engaging, reliable and able to quickly build professional relationships
