Position: Full-Time Year 5 Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support)

Start Date: September 2024

Location: Castle Vale Area

Zest Education are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join a Year 5 team on a full-time basis, providing 1:1 support to a student.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support to a Year 5 student, adapting learning materials to meet individual needs.
  • Assist the class teacher with classroom management and lesson preparation.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support the student’s social and emotional development.
  • Monitor and record the student’s progress and provide feedback to the class teacher.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and other staff members.
  • Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).


  • Experience working with primary school children, ideally within a Year 5 setting.
  • Previous experience providing 1:1 support is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • A patient, compassionate, and positive attitude.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or childcare are advantageous.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
