Zest Education are working closely with a secondary school in the Aldridge area, who are looking for a geography teacher to join their humanities team.

This is a full-time, temporary role, starting in September 2022 for one academic year. You must have a passion and knowledge for geography and be able to teach the curriculum through KS3-KS5.

The geography department within the school strive to promote a curiosity about the world for their students. They look forward to stimulating an interest in and a sense of wonder about places and people, from the local to the global. They’re constantly aiming to inspire students to become global citizens by exploring their own place in the world and their values and responsibilities to other people, to the environment and to the sustainability of the planet.

The school is a highly successful secondary school where staff and students feel happy and safe and where teachers and learners have a close working relationship. There are very high expectations of manners, behaviour and relationships and these expectations create an environment where all can achieve their ambitions and aspirations.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification that has awarded them QTS or QTLS
  • A great team ethos and want to be part of a strong team environment
  • The ability to plan, mark and deliver high quality lessons
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management

 

Both newly qualified teachers (NQT) / Early careers teachers (ECT) and experienced teachers will be equally considered for this role.

 

Rate of pay will vary dependant on experience.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years, teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
