Zest Education are working with a variety of schools across the Solihull area that have a high demand for Cover Supervisors. These roles are available for an immediate start, and have the potential to run for the full academic year.

The role of a Cover Supervisor is to supervise students when there is an absence of their scheduled teacher. The Cover Supervisor will have all work pre-planned for them by the class teacher, but will still be expected to deliver a high-quality lesson in a professional manner. Excellent classroom management is essential to ensure students remain focused and engaged with the work set. Supervision of both classroom lessons and PE lessons across KS3 and KS4 will be required.

To be considered, you will need a minimum of 20 days experience working with groups of children or young people or be a recent University Graduate. Due to the varying nature of Cover Supervisor work, applicants can come from various backgrounds including: being a recent graduate, sports coach, youth worker, dance teacher, play group leader and scout leader.

Successful candidates will have:
  • A strong level of numeracy and literacy skills
  • The ability to deliver high quality lessons
  • A passion for the development of young people
  • A team ethos and the ability to build strong and professional relationships with both staff and pupils
  • Ability to manage classroom behaviour

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
