Zest education has been working with a ‘Good’ Ofsted rated school in Walsall who require a History teacher for the rest of the academic year. The role is full- time and is due to start ASAP.

The school is very pupil focused and spend a large majority of their time making sure the pupils are enjoying the environment they are in. The school believe that it is the best way to get the most out of the pupils and that is why the school are highly creative and innovative to make sure they are always improving.

The successful applicant will be expected to plan and deliver engaging history lessons whilst maintaining a positive learning environment. Additionally, the successful applicant will be joining an incredibly supportive and hardworking departmental team.

The successful applicant will have:

  1. A PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification that has awarded them QTS or QTLS
  2. A strong passion for the subject of History and excellent subject knowledge across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 would be ideal but is not a necessity)
  3. A team ethos and want to be part of a strong team environment
  4. The ability to plan, mark and deliver high quality lessons (planning and marking only for short/long term placements).
  5. Strong classroom and behaviour management

Both newly qualified teachers (NQT) / early careers teachers (ECT) and experienced teachers will be equally considered for this role.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years, teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
