Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Walsall

Zest Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming and high-achieving primary school in Walsall. This is a fantastic full-time opportunity for an experienced HLTA who is passionate about supporting pupils’ learning and development within a nurturing school environment.

In this role, you’ll work closely with class teachers and lead learning activities, provide targeted support to individuals and small groups, and help foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere throughout the school. The school values teamwork, creativity, and a shared commitment to helping every child reach their potential.

Key Responsibilities
Deliver planned lessons and learning activities in the absence of the class teacher.
Provide focused one-to-one or small group interventions to boost progress.
Assist with lesson preparation, classroom organization, and resource management.
Support pupils’ social and emotional development, promoting confidence and resilience.
Communicate effectively with staff, parents, and careers to ensure consistent support.

Requirements
HLTA qualification (or equivalent).
Previous experience working within a primary school environment.
A good understanding of the national curriculum and effective classroom practice.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
A caring, positive, and proactive approach to supporting children’s learning.
