HR Administrator

Job Description

Zest Education is recruiting an organised and proactive HR Administrator to join a school or academy trust based in Birmingham. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong administrative skills and experience in HR, recruitment, or school office environments.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the HR department with daily administrative tasks

  • Assist with recruitment processes, including advertising roles, shortlisting, and arranging interviews

  • Manage staff records, contracts, personnel files, and compliance documentation

  • Process DBS checks, references, and safeguarding paperwork

  • Maintain accurate HR databases and update staff information

  • Support onboarding and induction for new staff

  • Handle enquiries from staff, visitors, and external agencies

  • Support with absence recording, attendance monitoring, and HR reporting

  • Provide general admin support such as filing, emails, and updating documentation

 Ideal Candidate:

✅ Previous experience in HR administration, school administration, or an office-based role
📋 Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
💬 Confident communicator with good written and verbal skills
🖥️ Proficient with IT systems (SIMS, Arbor, or similar systems an advantage)
🤝 Discreet, professional, and able to handle confidential information
🛡️ Understanding of safeguarding and safer recruitment
🪪 Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
